How to assign roles to your users as an admin

As an admin, you can assign roles that grant access to specific sections of the admin area.

Easy Role Assignment

As an admin at desk.ly, you can assign specific roles to various users and manage their permissions. This ensures efficient and targeted use of the platform.

Assigning Roles to New Users

  1. Log In

    Log in to desk.ly as an admin.

  2. Access User Management

    Open the admin area and navigate to User Management. You’ll find it under the “User Management” section labeled “Users.”
  3. Add New User

    Click on "Add User" and fill in the required information.
  4. Set Role

    In the "Permissions" section, select the desired role (Standard user, Analyst, Manager, Admin). The Analyst and Manager roles can be restricted to specific locations if needed. If not specified, these users will have access to all locations by default.
  5. Save

    Confirm the entries by clicking "Create User." The new user now has the assigned role and associated permissions.

Adjusting Roles for Existing Users

Roles can also be adjusted for existing users. To do this, select the appropriate person in User Management, click "edit," and change the desired role in the "Roles and Permissions" section. Confirm these changes by clicking "Save Changes." The Analyst and Manager roles can also be restricted to specific locations here if necessary.

Important!

Only admins can assign and change roles.
