Who is HOCHTIEF ?
HOCHTIEF is a global and technically oriented infrastructure group. They develop innovative solutions worldwide in the core activities of services, construction and concessions/public-private partnership (PPP). The company's main areas of activity are in Europe, North America and Australia.
HOCHTIEF was founded in 1873 by the brothers Balthasar and Philipp Helfmann and was first mentioned in an address book in Bornheim in 1874 under the name "Gebrüder Helfmann". Among the first building projects was the University of Giessen (1878 - 1879).
Today, the best-known projects in Germany include the Sony Centre and the future Federal Ministry of Health in Berlin, as well as the Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall and the musical houses Stage Theatre im Hafen, Stage Theatre an der Elbe and Mehr! Theatre am Großmarkt in Hamburg. The best-known projects worldwide are the Times Square Tower, the New York Times Tower and the new Yankee Stadium in New York, the Metro in Sydney and the State Opera in Prague.
